The worst of them. It does not fight its own kind, so colonies join up instead of competing and a single one can run the length of a street. Spraying can split it and make it spread.
White-footed ant

The small dark one on the kitchen bench. Enormous colonies, often nesting in wall cavities and roof spaces rather than outside.
Darwin's ant
